We have been painting kitchen cabinets various shades of grey for years and this trend I believe will continue into this year as well. I also believe we will see more blue and yellow cabinet colors emerge as options as a trend. Still dominating our customer’s preference are
white kitchen cabinets but hues of grey are probable the second most popular cabinet color. Let’s take a look at some recent projects we have been involved with to help get your own creative juices flowing.
Modern Grey Kitchen Cabinets
This project was very rewarding for us to design. In this case, the customer selected a shade of grey called
Mineral Deposit grey from the Sherwin Williams palette we were looking through. She had already settled on
shaker style kitchen cabinets for her new kitchen and we asked our custom cabinet maker to color match the swatch we supplied them.
As you can see, the blond color wood flooring and stainless steel appliances work well with this warmer shade of grey.
Kitchen Island Cabinets with a Blue Grey Finish
In this kitchen below, we designed a
double island kitchen layout for a family in New Jersey and we specified a darker grey quartz countertop for the two islands. So, we needed a complimentary color for the cabinets we had designed. We settled upon a color called
Quicksilver in the Sherman Williams catalog for the primary cabinets but added a taste of blue to this cooler grey tone for the islands. The square kitchen island cabinets were custom made with open shelving facing out into the dining area and 2 cabinets & 2 drawers facing into the kitchen work area.
As you can see,
light grey kitchen cabinets coupled with a honey walnut colored flooring offers a pleasing contrast of colors. The cabinet paint color actually brightens up the space. Here are a few more
popular kitchen flooring ideas you can consider when blending colors for your cabinets. Next month we will highlight a few more
custom kitchen islands we earned the opportunity to design over the past couple years. So, stay tuned.
Light Grey Kitchen Cabinets On Top
This
peninsula Island kitchen blends both light grey cabinets with white countertops and white painted cabinets below the counters.
