Powder Room Designs Done With Style

Most homes today have a powder room. Many have more than one. Which one in your home do your guests use? Will it be the “talk of the town” in a positive way or fuel for some local gossip? Often a big impression is made on your guests when they excuse themselves to use The Powder Room. Below are three very different powder rooms that we have designed for customers that we wish to elaborate on. We hope that at least one of these meets with your approval as well and gives you something very positive to share with your friends and neighbors.

Powder Room Designs We Have Done Recently

Modern, traditional, contemporary, and transitional are all different design styles our powder room designer uses. As a small bathroom designer in New Jersey, most of our work falls into one of those 4 design styles. Although we have also done a few powder room designs for clients at the jersey shore that fall into a beach or nautical motif and in western New Jersey, we see plenty of farmhouse bathroom designs. Our first one below is what we call a Modern Style powder room design.

Trendy Powder Room Design with a Copper Sink

In this case we were working with a younger homeowners powder room designer in Mercer County uses trendy designthat tend to like a “Trendy” décor that includes simple clean lines for the vanity, moldings and tilework. In contrast to these straight clean lines, the first décor piece we selected was a circular lighted mirror from Misano. This 30 inch round mirror was important for those who were applying makeup in this home. It uses LED technology, has an infra-red sensor switch that would come on when you stand in front of the mirror and as you can see, it is very attractive.

For the vanity we opted for a custom floating Rift Sawn White Oak vanity with a natural, translucent stain that would enhance the wood grain. Cutting your white oak this way allows for a visible linier wood grain direction and needs to be specified this way for the cabinet maker. Our client wanted a “Vessel Sink” in this powder room that has an Old World feel to it. We suggested our favorite copper artisans, Native Trails, who love to repurpose copper for the tubs and sinks they make. This custom crafted sink took several weeks to make as you will see in this video below. The result is this stunning hand crafted copper sink that has become the focal point for our customers’ guests.

Back in the day, the water came from the wall and therefore we installed a wall mounted faucet from Delta Faucets to complete this hand washing station.

White Bathroom Vanity from Fairmount Designs

small bathroom designer in njIn this next powder room, the focal point is this Victorian looking white bathroom vanity. This is actually a new piece of furniture made in a very traditional way. It was purposefully designed for this specific bathroom using high quality woods and finished with a white, high gloss paint with a few coats of clear lacquer. Therefore, easy to clean and maintain for years to come. We used a ¾ inch slab of white quarts as the vanity top cut specially to fit the vanity and was all done by a custom cabinet maker we have been using for years.

We sourced the Vessel Sink from Kohler. This Conical Bell shaped vessel sink is called “Botanical Study”.  It features intricate line work of tulips and chrysanthemums winding together. This traditional look is inspired by a 16th-century Turkish design and fits perfectly with this powder room design.

The flooring is a porcelain tile with a pattern called Cascais White Ornate. It blends well with the floral pattern of the sink above. Together, this bathroom has a very Mediterranean feel which is what we were trying to accomplish from the outset. The lighting in the powder room comes from two sconces on either side of the mirror which we sourced from Hudson Valley Lighting Group.

Floral Powder Room Design

This third powder room is one of our favorites. Something about floral bathroom designthis floral wallpaper by Ellie Cashman that just screams “Classy”. A very traditional design at its base but with a few twists. The first of which is this “Floating” trough sink made from carefully honed Carrara marble. The maker of this classic sink is Stone Forest and they are calling it their Lumbra Sink collection. This one is 36” wide compared to other varieties in this collection. It requires specialty mounting brackets installed during the carpentry and pluming stage. Well before the finishers arrive because the stone is quite heavy. The plumbing, faucet & accessories are all from the Brizo. Specifically, the Kintsu Bath Collection for the faucets in a Brilliance® Luxe Gold® finish.
